December 2007 Customer Letter
We had a fantastic 2007 and we’re getting close to 2008 so just a few notes.
This is a good time to order any equipment you need so let me know. Any coolers, scrims etc. you want before Thermal need to be ordered quickly as the turn around is quite slow. All horses should have shipping halters with nameplates and a sheet and blanket in good repair. Also please make sure you have what you need in the way of tack, bits, boots etc. for each of your horses and that everything is clearly marked.
At the horse shows riders need to repack their trunks at the end of each show. At that time check to see if your tack is in need of any repairs and that it is clean and any borrowed bits etc. have been returned. This is each rider’s responsibility!
1. Please also get with me or fax me the list of the shows you want to go to. I need to have each person’s written list of shows. Included with this letter is a tentative copy of our 2008 show schedule. I also need to know at Thermal what kind of stalls you want permanent or temporary. Also please remember that it is very difficult to do a 1 ½ stall on a weekly basis. Please consider this when you plan what weeks you are going to.
2. We are trying to plan a trip east next year for Devon, Saugerties, and Lake Placid but need to get commitments now, so please let me know if you are interested.
3. We are also going to be doing a web site which should make life much easier for everyone as I will update it approximately once a week with the following week’s schedule of when we leave for the show and who will be home teaching and on what days.
4. Please, any questions on billing need to be done within 30 days of receiving your bill. It is way too confusing to try and go back several months and sort things out. I’m afraid old age is setting in and my mind is just not that good anymore to remember Indio in Oct.
5. Each groom at home is now responsible for the overall care of certain horses. There is a list posted in the cross ties with this information. If there are any problems or issues with your horse please let me know.
6. We will also be ordering our Medal Club seats for the Oaks/Showpark shows as the renewal is in March at the first show. Please let me know how many seats you would like and make sure I have a check so we can get everyone the best deal possible.
7. Seats for Thermal for the VIP club are available and should be ordered on entries so please let me know as soon as possible.
8. Please give us copies of your new cards as soon as you receive them and make sure you have joined everything necessary. If you give us checks we will be happy to do these for you.
9. We also need to have the combinations for everyone’s locks. It is impossible for us to do our jobs if we can’t get to your horse’s tack at home and the shows.
With the large number of horses going to the shows the cash outlay is huge so please make sure you get your deposits in for every show on time and that your bills are paid in a timely matter with KHS and with all of the shoers, vets etc. We are unable to carry accounts that remain above $10,000 and/or are 60 days past due. This will require no showing till the account is paid in full. It is also important for all the riders to check the board and know their schedule and times and communicate with the grooms so their horses are ready on time.
