Karen Healey Stables Summer Circuit Highlights

San Juan Capistrano, CA - August 21, 2009
Karen Healey Stables has been at the top of the competition on the California horse show circuit throughout the summer. The horses and riders of Karen Healey Stables showed at the Showpark Summer Festival on July 15-19, and the Showpark August Festival on July 29 - August 2, in Del Mar, CA. Most recently, riders competed at the Blenheim Summer Classic II in San Juan Capistrano, CA, on August 12-16. Many of Karen Healey’s top students have had success throughout the year and continue to excel as the summer nears its end.

This past weekend Karen Healey riders showed at the Blenheim Summer Classic II and did very well in the CPHA Junior Medal Finals as well as the Junior Hunters and Junior Jumpers. Navona Gallegos earned the reserve championship honors in the CPHA Junior Medal Finals, while Kylee Arbuckle placed fourth thanks to the Dukes family for the loan of their horse Copper, and Jocelyn Neff placed sixth. Gallegos was also awarded the championship of the Equitation 16-17 and Mackensie Baker earned the division’s reserve championship.

Two of Karen Healey’s riders took top placings in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic at the Blenheim Summer Classic II. Samantha Harrison rode her mare Santika to a second place finish, and Elizabeth Dickinson place third with Bailey’s VH Muelenhof. In the hunters, Alexandra Block won all five classes of the Large Junior Hunter 16-17 to earn the championship honors riding All That.

Earlier in August, the Showpark August Festival at the Del Mar Horse Park saw a big win for Karen Healey student Fred Bauer and his horse Roma M. Bauer rode Roma M to an exciting first place finish in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

The Del Mar Horse Park also hosted the Showpark Summer Festival in July, where Healey’s students had their usual success. Alexandra Block and All That were awarded another championship tricolor in the Large Junior Hunter 16-17. Kristi Siam and Krosus earned the championship in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunters and came in first place in the Ariat National Adult Medal. In the jumpers, Mackensie Baker and Kona placed second in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and Fred Bauer and Roma M followed close behind to take the third place honors.

Karen Healey Stables will compete next at the Showpark Summer Classic, held at the Del Mar Horse Park, August 19-23, 2009.
