Karen Healey and Team are Major Players at Oaks Blenheim
June Classic II and III and Gold Coast Shows
San Juan Capistrano, CA - June 25, 2008
The past few shows have been good for Karen
Healey of Westlake Village, CA, and her students. The shows include the Oaks Blenheim June
Classic II and III, and the Gold Coast show at LA Equestrian Center.
At Oaks Blenheim June Classic II, there were many wins in the jumpers. In the Modified
Junior/Amateur Jumpers, Alex Block and Kool Shoes were first and Juliana Ball and Sjapoo
were second. In the 1.30M Jumpers, Kasey Ament picked up multiple ribbons in the classes.
She picked up a fourth and two fifths on Contendra, owned by Karen Healey. On Damiro 21,
she was sixth and seventh on Lichenstein 7. Juliana Ball was third on Sjapoo.
In the 1.40M Jumpers, Kasey Ament and Golden Flip, owned by Donna Neff, were the class
winners. Kasey Ament and Action G, owned by Cresthaven Farm, were third.
The $5,000 Junior-A/O Jumper Classic was successful for Shelby Wakeman and Pandoer,
owned by Danielle Torano, who were third. Also, Liz Dickinson and Lucio, owned by HMG
Farms, were fourth. In the $1,500 Seven and Eight-Year-Old Jumper Classic, Lauren Kay and
Damiro 21 were third.
The $2,000 Low Jr-A/O Jumper Classic was the class for Tammy Chipko and horse Lottie, who
took home the blue ribbon. Shelby Wakeman and Punker, owned by Golden Goose Investors,
was a close second. In the $1,500 Modified Jr-Am Jumper Classic, Juliana Ball and Sjapoo,
owned by Victoria Eseke, were fourth.
Shelby Wakeman was a star in the equitation, winning against some big names in the USEF
medals and WIHS. In the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, Shelby Wakeman was first,
Jocelyn Neff third, Hannah Selleck fourth, Michelle Morris sixth and Alex Block eighth. In the
Pessoa/USEF National Hunter Seat Medal, winning was Shelby Wakeman, second with Michelle
Morris, fifth with Jocelyn Neff and Alex Block was seventh.
In the WCE, Alex Block was third, Hannah Selleck was fourth and Jocelyn Neff was fifth. The
WIHS Equitation Classic was another class that was good for Shelby Wakeman, who was first.
Michelle Morris was third and Jocelyn Neff was fifth. Liz Dickinson was second in the CPHA
Adult medal. Tina Dilandri won the Equitation 15-17 on the Flat. Over Fences, Tina was third
and Michelle Morris was second.
During that same Saturday, Karen Healey Stables also went to the Gold Coast show at LA
Equestrian Center and did just as well. Winning the WCE was Samantha Harrison. Samantha
Harrison was also fourth in the USET. The CPHA was won by Demi Steigler and Alex Block was
third. The Rosewood was won by Steigler as well. In the USEF Alex Block was third. Steigler
was second in the ASPCA Medal and Holly Dickinson was third.
During the Oaks Blenheim June Classic III from June 18-22, it was another week of wins. The
1.25 M Jumpers belonged to Michelle Morris, who received a second and a fourth. In the 1.30M
Jumpers, Kasey Ament and Lichenstein 7 were third. Ament was also fifth on Damiro 21,
owned by Lauren Kay and was eighth on Lucio, owned by HMG Farms. 1.40M Jumpers brought
a fourth for Kasey Ament and Santika, owned by Samantha Harrison.
In the High Jr-A/O Jumpers, Samantha Harrison and Santika were second. Navona Gallegos
and Acrobat were second and third. In the Low Jr-A/O Jumpers, Elizabeth Dickinson on Lucio
and Lauren Kay on Damiro 21 both picked up a first place and tied for the championship.
The $2,000 Low Jr-A/O Jumper Classic brought a sixth for Yasmine Abdallat and Team
Harmony Ramina. In the $5,000 Jr-A/O Jumper Classic, Samantha Harrison was seventh on
Santika and Liz Dickinson was eighth on Lucio.
In the equitation, Navona Gallegos won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Sophie
Benjamin was second, Jocelyn Neff was third and Alexandra Block was fourth. In the
Pessoa/USEF National Hunter Seat Medal, Sophie Benjamin was third and Holly Dickinson was
fifth. Liz Dickinson was second in the USEF Adult Medal. Sophie Benjamin was also first in the
WCE. Alex Block was fifth, Holly Dickinson was seventh and Navona Gallegos was eighth. In
the WIHS, Jocelyn Neff won the class. Sophie Benjamin was third, Holly Dickinson sixth, and
Navona Gallegos was seventh.
In the CPHA Foundation, Holly Dickinson was second, beating mom Elizabeth Dickinson, who
was fourth. In the ASPCA Maclay, Holly Dickinson was eighth. Holly also picked up a fifth in the
CPHA Jr/Adult Medal. Alex Block was third in the Equitation Over fences.
Karen Healey Stables will compete next at the Oaks Blenheim Red, White, and Blue show on
June 25-29, 2008.
