Karen Healey Stables Has Success at Showpark Ranch and Coast Horse Show

Del Mar, CA - May 14, 2008
Karen Healey Stables competed at the Showpark Ranch and Coast Horse Show last week and came back with great results. They won classes in equitation, jumpers, and hunters, along with tricolor ribbons.

Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village, CA, was one of most decorated riders of the week. She piloted San Francisco to wins in the WIHS Equitation class and the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class. On Pandoer, she finished third in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers. She rode Quality Time for Laura Wasserman to the championship in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters. They won two classes over fences and were second and fifth, and they also won the under saddle class. Wakeman also received top ribbons on My Cap, owned by Archie Cox.

Tammy Chipko, another Westlake Village resident, rode her top amateur hunter All That to the win in the $1,000 Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic. In the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters, they received two firsts, two thirds, and a fifth for the reserve championship in the division.

In the equitation ring, Demi Stiegler took the blue ribbon in the WCE Medal, was second in the Equitation 14 & Under over fences class and was third on the flat. Stiegler was third as well in the ASPCA Maclay and the THIS Children's Medal.

Riding her young horse Denmark, Lauren Hester of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, won the USEF Senior Medal and the CPHA Adult Medal. They finished third in the Foxfield Medal class.

Assistant trainer Kasey Ament rode W.C. Swing, owned by Carol Bird, to fourth place in the $5,000 1.45m Open Jumper Classic. Juliana Ball, a new member of the Karen Healey Stables team, placed second in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers, a class with 56 entries, on Sjapoo. Tina DiLandri and Chanel 292 finished eighth in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and on Mr. B, she finished tied for second over all in the WIHS Equitation.

Karen Healey Stables will compete next at the Memorial Day Classic Horse Show in Burbank, CA, on May 22-26, 2008.
